Can i run my T-Case dry?

take the plug off of your other tcase when you go in to buy the right socket - that way there's no question. i'm sure these guys' numbers are right, but you may as well. i don't think you'll be able to fit a pipe wrench in there, dude, we had a helluva time even getting the big - crap, i can't remember the name of it, ever - the big shiny wrench in there. :)

Adjustable aka "crescent" wrench?

The problem I see with monkey / pipe wrenches or the adjustable / crescent is that the damn nut is soooo flat, there isn't much engagment surface. I ended up having to get the 30mm socket or whatever it is and had to press it HARD against the t-case to weasel the thing off. I don't like NP241's =)) [or was it a '208 ... anyway, I don't like them newfangled ones!]

thanks man. i swear, every time i want to talk about a crescent wrench, i have to ask the name of it. agreed about the flatness of the bolt.

nathan, i'm not sure if your tcase is entirely dry - i don't remember us actually draining it, except for when we turned the whole thing over and poured all that fluid out where the output shaft is. maybe you could take the driveshaft out, make another tin foil funnel and funnel the fluid back in thru where the output shaft is. :D

another quick fix would be to take your other 208 and swap it in - we're getting good at that sort of thing!

or i could drive you to sears.
