I took the limited slip carrier out of my 8.5" 10 bolt, but I can not find any LSD on the net that looks like this. There are numbers here and there, but no brand name. Has anyone seen this type before? I thought it was an Auburn, but looks nothing like it. Thanks

Detroit True Trac or Moroso Super Brute?

yeah it defiantely not a tru trac, they dont have have springs or clutches. may be an aubrun or eaton, i couldnt really tell you.

I found an Auburn unit on Ebay that looks identical to it...but there is nothing thatlookslike it on Auburns site. Either way, does it appear to be a stout unit? I have never seen one that looks like this...with the removeable covers and stuff.

It can't be an Auburn unit as they don't have clutches, they use cones instead and are non rebuildable.

Not true. Mine has clutches and is fully rebuildable. I love mine great on the street and good offroad. An Arburn has the highest rating for Limited Slip lockup be for it will let one tire spin.

There are NO "clutches" in an Auburn LSD. When they refer to clutch cones they are simply a tapered cone that fits into the taper of the side gear. Maybe you should go read their website so you can understand how they work. Also they are not rebuildable.

Ok I was wrong. I was told by my rear end guy that they were rebuildable and when it went out i would have to send it back to auburn and they would rebuild it , but I guess they just send me back a new one. Well its still a great LSD
