has anyone put tubes in swampers? we got a set of 35x15x16.5 tsl sx's for my son. we bought them at night and didn't notice the dry rot they have. he also took a turn in the neighborhood slow and broke a bead just going around the corner at about 23psi. now this is also on a 3/4 ton suburban. so to not have to worry about the dry rot or loosing a bead again we are wondering if tubes will work. these tires are also like new on tread so it would be a shame to not be able to run them

I've done it. Had no problems other than when I spun a tire on the bead and ripped the valve stem out. In the tires defense, that one was accidentally lowered to 8 psi (Had the rest at 10), and it was slowly leaking all day, so I doubt it had 5 psi in it when it happened. Otherwise I felt they kind of worked as a poor man's bead lock.

Radial tubes can be used in either bias ply or radials and are a lot thicker, they are worth the extra money...be aware tubes aren't cheap like they once were, its not unusual to find them costing more than 30 bucks especially for larger sized tires--even a stupid lawn tractor 8" one is almost 20 bucks now!.....a used tire around here can be bought cheaper than a tube sometimes from used tire shops or salvage yards..
