Cap lines to rear AC?

Hey guys,

So I had my A/c charged a 1.5 yrs ago, and it seems to be leakign down. I can see some leakage around the lines that are heading to the rear ac.

Is there any correct cap to cap where the rear lines hookup under the hood? I have no need to keep the rear a/c functional, just need to keep the front of the system charged.

Anyone done this before? Would like to avoid having to swap the front hardlines in from a non-rear ac truck.

AC shop should have something to cap the lines. No matter what you do, you will have to recharge the system. There is no way that the front will cool the whole BURB. That is why i added rear air to my blazer. If the rear air works, I would change the "o' rings and stop the leak. my 2 cents

Didn't you have a write up on your system? I remember reading about it. I'm kind of curious about your set-up
 
I just got done installing a new compressor, accumulator, and manifold/hose set in my Burb...man, it's nice and cooooold now (outside temps here well above 100F).

You can get an o-ring kit for about $10. I second frankin5 on fixing at least that.

Chances are that the accumulator is original, right? If that's the case you'd be well served by replacing it due to age and the fact that you'll be opening the system. Those things catch a lot of moisture and other junk and can get saturated over time. Might as well replace the hose assembly or at least the o-rings at the same time.

FWIW, you can get a vacuum pump that works really well at Harbor Freight these days for $80. The two-stage is even better for like $150 (or $120 on Amazon). A manifold guage set is $40-$50. If you don't wanna invest like that take it to an AC shop and have them vac & charge it once you've got the new parts on.

I never did a write up. I have both the rear air and rear heat setup from a burb. With both airs set on low it is heaven. With the rear heater don't need to worry about defrosting.:D
 
Want to say they were not able to find a cap, but should check again.

Basically, the rear lines are sorta pinched somewhere, so they don't flow well anyways, and the rear air doesn't' really get cold. I never have the 3rd seat in anymore, and rarely have more than a couple ppl in the rig. Front air works fine for the front seats. In the interest of refrigerant cost, seems best to isolate the front.
