I was thinking a newer Impala, but I just need to get something different than my 89 ford to drive. I just got laid off at work Im not exaclty sure when Im going back. He said 3 weeks but I dont know so I cant take on a payment now.

theres this cavailer I found that is about 4 miles from me. Im gonna look at this one too, and it would be nice to get back into a chevy. been a few years.

Your first link is deleted.

The second one, those Cavaliers can be tough as nails. I've watched many win the compact car figure 8 derby time and time again on the same engine. They are a highly sought after car in the local demo derby crowd. If that helps... :dunno:

I went and looked at the cavalier today.

Probably the biggest POS ive driven in a long time. Barely started even when it was upto operating temp, CE light on, door wouldnt close all the way, a trim piece for the dash along the windshield was broke to hell, rest of the interior was really filthy. Seems to drive ok, with decent power. I just dont want a restoration project for how much I drive for work, and this seems like it was a work beater since day one with little to no maintenance done.

Maybe Im being too picky, but ive bought alot of cars for under $3000 that have been far better than this.

I've owned a lot of little rice beaters in my day....I can say without a doubt that the best I have owned was a Toyota Carolla...if you find one and it cranks and doesn't smoke...buy it...
That said, my DD is a 1999 For Ranger which is a Mazda...it's over 12 years old now and I have had very little trouble out of it...if you can find one with a 2.5L those are pretty darned tough...

I had a 94 escort with a 1.9.

I regret selling that car all the time. probably still going somewhere, but I think thats another mazda badged as a ford.

Actually the 99 ranger is ford, the Mazdas are fords, not the other way around. Either way those rangers are tough little trucks.

1.9 escorts are great cars if they haven't been over heated.

May so many options out there.
