EDIT: Please move to tow rig/trailer, should've put it there in the first place...

I've been looking into getting a car hauler, and found a travel trailer frame for sale for $100 locally. It's dual axle, with brakes on the the front axle, registered and he's already torn all the other crap off.

My question is, for the cost of bracing the frame up and putting either diamond plate or wood decking, would this be worth it? and could it handle it?

Here's some pictures he sent me...

One of my wheeling buddies has a trailer with a fram almost exactly like that. It's been beefed up and has wood decking. It's heavy! Plus it's narrow between the fenders. It works well for him, since he modified it to work with his rig. But putting another vehicle on there would be a challange.

What are the measurements between the tires? Planning on fenders? What do you plan on hauling on it (wheel base, tire width)? How cheap can you get the materials? Can you do the fab work yourself? Chance are it can be made to work. But if you plan on hauling more than one vehicle, I'd look into an actuall car trailer.

EDIT: May want to check out the Tow Rig/Trailer forum...I'm sure this has been covered before.

It's 16' long, not sure of the measurements between the tires. It would only be used to haul my 70 blazer. I know there have been other build ups, I just didn't know if it would end up costing me the same amount of $$ as just buying a used manufactured one.

I could do all the fab work myself, but i'm not sure on the price of materials. That would be the deal killer
