i got a 92 350 30 over all stock with a performer intake and a 600cfm edelbrock carb with spring loaded needle and seats and a summit hei performance kit with a msd 6al and it likes to load up if you dont stay in the throttle when going up hills and if you are in 2wd high punch it and let off it will cut off

my hei does have an adjustable vacuum advance

another thing is i have a milling electric fuel pump at 5-7psi, i set the carb with a vacuum guage to about 19psi and it still has a rich smell to it no matter what i do

Have you confirmed fuel pressure? Im teaching myself and reading the internet to wrench better. My elelbrock 1406 did the same thing until I installed a fuel pressure regulator (mechanical fuel pump). You might set lean best idle with tach and see if it's better. I chased a rough run condition for a week only to discover that the vac advance that I was unpugging to tune and check for leaks was shot:doah:Long lesson to learn to tee into a line when checking for leaks. Look down the carb at idle to see if its pushing fuel.
Good Luck,
Kenny
