I was having heat soak/percolation issues with my carburetor running 195+ degrees while trail crawling and after hot soak. A 4-hole 1/2" spacer off ebay did the trick.

FYI, I used to run a phenolic spacer on my Mopar 440 many years ago and "forgot" what a difference it made. Of note, Chevy manifolds tend to run a lot hotter due to coolant routing and direct exposure to valley oil splash. Good argument for the Edelbrock air gap series I suppose.

Oh yeah, BTW the PO neglected to install the correct adapter plate on the Performer 2.0 manifold so there was a pesky manifold leak below the carb when it heated up.:doah:

also why edelbrock started making the air gap they work and run preaty good also.
i Also have had great results with those spacers.

Im running a 2 inch spacer on my engine.

Yeah, 2" open spacers seem to be well suited for most manifolds with the exception of the RPM series as the latter already have well matched plenum volume. I'd consider running a larger spacer but I'm already a bit over carbureted as is.
