Has a bad vibration and the joints are worn out. Would like to replace everything if possible.

Do I grind down the small tab and use a punch?

Never taken one apart like this.

Thanks for the info.

Cleaned up for better sight.

Is this a part that only a drive shaft company can do? I am not seeing anything as a replacement anywhere.

that small pin appears to be a lube point. I am not sure if that part is serviceable other than the u joints

Yeah, I am not sure either. This is definitely worn out though as you can see here there is tons of metal shavings from the sleeve around the ball.

hopefully someone who has been done this road will chime in. Bone yard ? Has the drive shaft been modified for the lift ? if not now may be the time to get a nice upgraded shaft

Mine doesn’t separate like this? So I can’t find the parts I need. Unless I’m way overthinking this. But I haven’t seen a video or a part that looks anything like the cv ball on the end of my drive shaft.

Do a search and see if you can find one like yours
Didn't watch vid
I already searched on YouTube. Watched all those vids hours ago haha been at it since 5 am. I wouldn’t just ask if I hadn’t already searched. Was hoping someone with the same exact one or similar or had ran into this would know.

I am wondering if I am just not getting the terminology correct but I have been searching for “drive shaft cv ball repair/replacement” etc., for hours. Haven’t seen anything like this one.

Yeah, yours is definitely a bit different than the couple I’ve messed with in the last. I have been hanging out a driveshaft shop when the owner said he just replaces cv’s and doesn’t rebuild them. Are there any part numbers cast into it? I would look through neapco or spicer catalogs to see if you can match it up.

I have looked through their catalogs online. All have the bolt in style yoke ends.

I just looked through the cv section of the neapco catalog and they don’t detail that part of their joints. There is a repair kit for the ball but it doesn’t look like yours.

Thinking about just slapping in the new ujoints. Pack it with grease the best I can and just sending it

i dont play with them but what i do know i think yours is BROKEN and you need the whole new end and have the old cut off and new welded on and re balanced .

dont band-aid it you ever see the damage a flopping around drive shaft can do ? ? ? gas tanks / exhaust / floor pans / tail shaft of trans or t-case all damaged . worst case a front fails it can pole vault you like a Olympic professional

Spring inside is definitely wore out. It’s just an odd set up I haven’t seen.
