Carpet kit or do it myself? where to buy?

What I have: 1976 K5 blazer

Questions:

Should I buy a carpet kit and save some grief or buy my own carpet and cut it out my self?

If you think I should just buy a carpet kit, where is a cheaper quality place to buy it at? what price should a carpet kit run me?

kit will turn out MUCH nicer... Tho some cheesier sets may not be as good as a quality one...

i ordered my carpet from JC whitney and sent it back... decided to Herc it instead. put the first coat on tehis afternoon and i think it looks better then carpet and will last forever.

Also, I was thinking of dyno mating my floor then adding carpet for more sound detaning, how is this herc for sound detaning? Could I use dyno matte with herc on top of it or would I even need to do that?

The Herculiner is very nice and will help alot for sound deadening. If you buy a pre formed carpet and dynamat...You are gonna spend some doe.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish....do you want the look of carpet, something rugged, quieter?

Id like something not too pricey, easy to clean, easy to install, sound deading, Id like it to look nice.

If I went with herculiner, How would I hide speaker wires and such?

You could herc right over the speaker wires if you wanted or run them underneath. I would just roll the herc right over the wires.

Also I think you should check out some pics of the herculiner and see if cosmetically it is what you like. It will definetly be alot easier to clean. Just spray and wipe!

Thanks, but what if I wanted to change or run some different wires later on? Is this herc like a spary on bed liner? Is it wet when applied then hardens into a mold?

You got it kid.
It's the cheap one you can buy at walmart or kragen and apply it yourself.
It's cheap and it easy to clean but for the wire situation you are talking about I would not paint over them.
I would run some kind of tubing or racks for wiring wich will hide it protect it and will make it easy to pull the wires through.
