Just curious. Any of you guys ever thought about putting in an access panel in the rear floor to get at the fuel pump so you don't have to drop everything? After having to replace mine twice within a month I was giving it serious thoughts.

I've been contemplating replacing the carpet in mine also. I am going to get the front seats recovered within the next few weeks though. Anyone have plans for that?

i did blue carpet for originality purposes
trying to keep the truck look as stock as possible

(ps is that the accual music video for that song, never seen the video before lol)

Nope. Got a '73 Blazer. Mechanical fuel pump on the engine block. But I know how you EFI guys feel when your in-tank fuel pump goes out. I've been there too. And it sucks. :o

My Blazer will NEVER be as nice as yours is.
I don't know man, my Blazer is really nice but it isn't perfect by any means. Your '78 looks pretty damn good. You're not far off. :waytogo:

Needs a good cleaning

I don't have any pictures of it at the moment, I'll post up when I do. It looks just like yours actually, somewhat dirty and in need of detail. I restored my stock air cleaner to like-new condition and now it looks out-of-place in there  . I just bought a new Canon digital camera so I'll snap off some shots sometime here...

Yep same here. See, you're not too far off. Your engine bay may be cleaner than mine :doah:I want to get mine cleaned up and restored this summer.

The engine block is orange. It's just dirty. Needs a good degreasing. Valve cover gaskets leaked for a long time until I replaced them over the winter.

Actually, if you were going to go "period correct" with your '78 K5, orange blocks from the factory disappeared after 1976 on Chevy light trucks. I'm 95% sure on that.

I see your sound deadener under the hood is mostly intact. Most of the trucks I've seen the material is nothing but shreds.

But seriously, most of the ones I see around here are so ragged you can't tell what they looked like when new.

i thought i was the only one on this site that was restoring to factory new. im rebuilding the engine now i wish i knew where to find a pic of an 88' 350 so i could tell whats semi gloss or flat.
