Wish I had more pictures. I’m asking him for some of the stuff we built before the internet too.

My dad is one hell of a mechanic. Hard shoes to fill for me. Him and I built tons of cars while I was growing up. It’s what we did. It’s who we are. Large shoes to fill for me but I am my fathers son. His legacy will live on with me when he takes the long sleep. And that legacy will be passed to my future son.

In 1955 my grandpa (Grandpa Pictured) bought this 1931 Dodge roadster for $50. It was just a body and frame. This car sat on my great uncles property for 52 years. When my grandpa came down with cancer he asked me and my dad to build this roadster for him.

that’s the same bucket too. 4 years before my grandpa passed he got to drive his roadster. Date on this photo is incorrect this is a photo of a photo. Total frame off with a 350 Chevy and lokar shifter for the TH350.

1950 Chop Top Shoe box ford. This one the B pillars are sloped. C notched the frame. It was on bagged suspension. You could drop the rockers .025 from the ground. 500CI Cadillac and T-5 5 speed manual transmission. 55 corvette grill, 99 devile taillights. This one was sold to a guy who supposedly put it in a Barrett Jackson action.

1973 Jensen Healy Roadster 1/500 in the United States. Lotus engine with Weber downdraft carburetors. I didn’t help my dad with this one as he moved out of state when he built it. I just think it’s a bitching car and I love driving it when I visit him.

1927 Model T High Boy. 348 Tri-power W Motor. T-5 5 speed manual transmission and position 4:11 gears. You could burn the tires off in every gear. I drove this one to many car shows. Very fun car. Me and my pops almost died in it one time. Coming down the highway some guy pulled right in front of us. Those finned aluminum drum brakes look great but they are not prepared to stop us for something like that. We nearly rolled. Luckily I only hit my head hard on the passenger window and the front axle was wrapped. We had it rebuilt in a weekend.

Here it is getting put on the trailer for the new owner. God I miss this car. We drove it until the motor gave up and pops put it up for sale to build another project. Really sad it’s gone still.

Trying to get Pics of the 1956 Chevy Shorty Wagon. Had a Blown 406. It would do wheelies the length of a city block.

My dad had pics for all the builds on his computer but it crashed the motherboard a few years back. I’m having him send me the hard drive he kept from it in hopes I can retrieve all the files off it. It’s an old hard drive but I hope I can at least do something. Should have 51 stude shop car build, 56 shorty, 50 ford, 74 & 73 corvette, 71 Nova, 70 Chevelle pro street, 27 model T, 59 el Camino, 85 square body, 84 trans am, 31 roadster and countless other builds we did over the years. Really sucks that we lost all the restoration photos but I’m hoping I can get them back

Here’s the only pic of I could find of the el Camino. It’s stored at my uncles. Also a really bad photo of the car but the pro street 70 Chevelle. Just the new bar we installed. Haha

The 70 Chevelle when we first built it was all drag car. No interior. All sheet metal riveted inside. Just a drivers seat and roll bar. We didn’t like that it could barely drive on the street to shows etc., and it was trailered to the drag strip we frequented. Ended up taking out the blown 454 and installing a streetable 454 and put all the interior back together. So it’s definitely more fun than just at the strip.

Before my uncle (grandfathers brother) came down with Parkinson’s him and my cousins ran a paint and body shop. Used to get our cars painted and body work done for great deals back then. Now I work with my cousin, he paints the aircraft that I build. My cousins kinda got out of the car scene as far as I know. Sad as they have a hoard of collectible cars just sitting and not being worked on. Seems when the greatest man who ever lived (my grandfather) passed away, the family has never been the same. We used to be much closer than we are today. Miss those days.

Swap meet season is among us and this stupid virus might cause them to cancel. I’ve been hitting swap meets since I was in a cradle. Here’s an old pic my uncle found of me being me with my pops at the swap meet. Early or mid 90’s

Here’s us at a test and tune at the drag strip in mission BC. The back of the photo is labeled “future hot rodder” ha. 1970 Pro Street Chevelle high 9 sec car. Uncle still has it. It’s still extremely nice. Took it out not to long ago and laid a strip down the highway. Cops started swarming but we had it parked in the garage by the time they flew by us haha

Found a couple of the 56’ shorty wagon. This was my favorite car. With the bug catcher scoop under it was a 406ci SBC. Pops took it out and put it in a 73’ corvette convertible. Put in a 350 sbc and sold it. I was pretty torn up about this car being sold. I used to wash it and detail it hoping one day it would be mine. Maybe I’ll find it around someday.

My pops called me up last night after I found the pics and is determined to get this car back (56’ shorty). I’m not sure how many hours was put into cutting that wagon down but I remember him saying he would never do it again. Haha

We used to live close to the Mission drag strip.
Dad took us there when I was a kid. Spent a nice rainy day there for track day with my old Datsun 240z at the new track on the road course.
