I am deciding between 2 antenna ideas. 1. 62 inch wilson 1000 on the roof(alreay got an old mount there) 2. like a 4 foot fiberglass antenna, with a bracket sandwiched between the body and top. i still gotta pull the truck in the garge so if i do the wilson i will just keep the anteena in the truck and use the weatercap.any other ideas would be cool, i dont wanna drill into the body so no ball mount.

I've got the Wilson 5000 trucker and my mount is going to be on the rear bumper/tire carrier i'm currently building. It should put the coil at least half way as high as my rear window.

I have a Firestick and can't be more happier with it.

Jeff, i'm sure you're happy with your firestick but he wants to know about his antenna. :haha:

I find that plain metal whip antennas work best, the magnetic mounts especailly I'm not a fan off. The fiberglass works ok but I don't like the look of them so Id say eitherl ike 6' metal whip on the rear bumper or a trucker one on the rear bumper or mirror.

you could always mount the wilson in between the hood and fender. brackets are cheap, and you can probably still go in the garage. If you have ever seen the K40 antenna (i think it is similar to the wilson 1000), it has a quick disconnect. my buddy put one between his hood and fender and could take it off when needed.

I got a firestik but may go with a Wilson.

The only issue with my setup is, I need to get it tuned with a SWR meter.

I've been researching an antenna for my burb and I think I'm gonna go with a Wilson. I use to have two 4ft fiberglass antennas on my truck and I didn't like them

its probaly just gonna be a soild mount wilson on the roof. i alreay have a hole there just for the sake of simplicity and convenience
