CB mounting in trucks?

Hmmm never thought about that. I figuered I could put my pump gun up there. Now that you say that I dont think thats going to happen. Are screws stripping out or is it just rattling loose? Thanks for the info.

Ummm... sorry but that pic isnt real. Its gotta be a fake. No ones interior looks that good and clean! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My CB is in front of the console mounted vertically. Id show a pic, but Id be embarrassed to have my interior compared to that one! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I think they rattle loose. They are just a screw with a little metal tab with a slot they screw into. Mine actually had a console in the middle but took it off, but don't buy the plain shelf, itis like 3" wide where mine is like 8" or so, get the console shelf and don't screw the console on. Actually the console mount holes are perfect for the CB mount too. I have also seen the gun shelf in mags with a strap to hold them in but dunno how wide they are.

Well, that's what a mall poser looks like! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

mnorby, i wanted to tell you a way to keep crap from falling on your lap while 4 wheeling, at least this is how my dads frightliner is at his work, it has a shelf very similer to yours, what frightliner did was put some elastic webbing over the shelve areas, keeps stuff from falling out /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif. just a little trick i thought id share, even tho you probly already know. good luck on that, and i mounted my cb on the roof today, works pretty well, i like it up there, i dont know if im gunna keep it up there, but if i find a better idea i will do it, pics will be entering my webshots page soon /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

the shelf has elestic strap to hold maps and stuff but don't hold my CD case or books etc too well.

where did you get that bracket for the light switches? That looks like it might be small enough to fit in the front slot on the mid 80's series center console.

PM me and let me know. Thanks.

I built my bracket with jsut some 1" strap I found laying around. Pretty easy to make.

i have mine mounted right below the dash under the radio... close at hand....i plan on mounting on the side of the center console when i build it....

i fit my switches (2) by my emergincy brake petal (not in use) they work all right there, i have an amp\equilizer in the place under the sterio, but other wise, it was all good. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
