hey i need a messurement from some on who has a whip anttena. i need how big the base is againts the bumper or bracket to the top of the spring where the antenna screws in.

i know not the best pic but you get the idea.

Mine is 6" from the mount to the base of the antenna.

but thanks for the messurements, i was guessing around 7 inches so i was close

i am gonna be putting a whip antenna on my truck and just need to figure out if it will work. bumper mount with a rain gutter clip so i can pull in the garage still.

also how much does a 108 inch antenna, and a spring cost.

I've not heard of a 108" antenna, but a 102" steel whip is about $25 at Radio Shack. Catalog #: 21-903

not even computer shack, more like cell phone shack.

there is a cb shop kinda close to me, you name it he sells it. its a little more pricy but you have a problem he will stand behind all of his products. when you buy a radio from him he will make it a litlle bit more powerful

hey broncoman, i was looking at pic of you K5 i see you have a whip on there. is it a 9 foot whip? and could you post up a close up pic of the bracket that you have?

Tell Radio Shack to order it for you. They'll get it with the next shipment. Shouldnt matter if its company store or franchise. They still have to order stuff periodically to stock the store.

Radio Shack around me does not have a large CB selection. I ended up going to an electronics store and got the stainless spring and ball mount and antenna for about $100. It was a bit more expensive for me, but I did a lot of pricing, and you really cant get a 102" antenna shipped for anything reasonable. Granted, I bought all of this a few years ago, so there might be more options now...

i do not wanna do a ball mount because i dont wanna drill into the body. my friend got a 108 inch antenna i gotta ask him where he got it

thanks for all the help every one but i am just gonna do a solid roof mount wilson.

two more questions and we are done.

and the antenna shouldnt bend the roof up,correct?

do they make a 6 foot whip anntena? because i could build a bracket an use a bolt that holds the topper on.
