cfm carb ??? Updated post 22

I figured, but which ones in particular?
Can you cut and paste them?

the heads sound great except they will raise compression about 1 point due to the smaller combustion chamber...do you know what your compression is now?

Cam sounds good

I think that intake is a peanut port design, it should be port matched to the heads for best performance. My Performer was a peanut port size, not the big oval port size.

I've never run one of their carbs.

http://www.jegs.com/i/Edelbrock/350/60499/10002/-1 valves area bit big for a truck application, and compression will be unknown
http://www.jegs.com/i/Edelbrock/350/2162/10002/-1 little smaller than i would suggest, and too small for those edel. heads
http://www.jegs.com/i/Edelbrock/350/2161/10002/-1 performer rpm would be better
http://www.jegs.com/i/Edelbrock/350/1411/10002/-1 ok- q-jet would be better

Also...cam, intake carb kit...as an option for less $$$ right now

not a bad idea, but you need to know what heads you have now.

what is that thing in the sky? its a bird! no! its a plane! no! its a snowball!

1- go to the parts store.
2- buy some valve cover gaskets
3- remove the easiest to get off valve cover, its only 7 bolts
4- note head casting number
5- post head casting number here

there is no reason to spend $1800 on heads if you have some good ones on the truck currently. 781/049 heads are great, even with small valves. paying somebody a couple hundred to clean up the bowls, and do a 3 angle would be way better idea.

to take advantage of this stuff you will need some headers and good flowing mufflers

look at this cam

What do you think, i was told they are made to go together and i told him the truck i have.

Also I dont think i said, this truck is driven only in summer on nice sunny days, one MAYBE two days a week, i think i put 200 miles on this whole summer. Its just to clean to wreck. And yes pics are coming.

The first intake you chose is much better than the performer. The performer RPM airgap is without a doubt the best street intake you can buy, assuming you are not emmisions tested and you don't need the exhaust crossover for winter months. The RPM is the key, if you don't get the hi rise performer RPM then the performer is just basically a lightweight aluminum stock intake. The performer RPM is a proven improvement over the regular version, and since it is still a dual plane, you don't lose any low end with the RPM version.
