Change printed circuit board

Several years ago I installed a tachometer and small fuel gauge in my '87. I ran wires around to get everything connected. I just noticed that LMC has the printed circuit boards for the trucks with tachometers ( http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/CSB/full.aspx?Page=116 ). So my question is: can I get one of those to work in my truck to get rid of all the wires I currently have back there? I imagine I'll have to somehow connect the coil to something other than directly into the tach and hope that the connections for everything else are the same.

I ordered one from some resto outfit, it fit perfectly. Let me see if I can find which one I ordered.

As I remember, you have to order the one for exactly what you have make, model, which gauges, tach, no tach.

But it was not hard to decipher which one I wanted.

I never heard of them before, it's good to add another place to get parts from. But, that's actually kind of confusing to choose from. With/without gauges or A/C? Don't they all have gauges and what does A/C have to do with it?

If I get one of these, will it work with the connection the way it is (with the exception of wiring the tach leads to it) or will it require a rewire?

factory tach has its own wires to the coil and such. only major benifit is the correct cirkit thing and looks good. otherwise if it works run it.

the tach one just makes room for the tach and moves the fuel over to small lower left.

also the clusters had gauges or idiot lights is whay thay ask for gauges or not. but if you got all needles then its gauges.

good luck.

The way I have it now it all works. I just figured if I got the correct circuit board, it would clean up some of the wires (at least the ones running from the old gas gauge connectors over to the little gas gauge).

I figured the wires that currently go from the coil directly to the tach would now be wired into the connector that plugs into the circuit board. As for the gas gauge, I don't know if I'd have to move any of those around in the connector. I'd hope the other gauges would all work where they are.

I have the typical '87 gauges of: volts, oil pressure, and temp. But at the bottom of the tach and speedometer there are some idiot lights (like check engine and 4x4).
