Changed the GP's but.....

Meh Im gonna get a new one. After looking at it this one looks kind of crusty. Also when I was removing this one another wire that was connected at the place on the head is in pretty bad shape and only hanging on by a thread so im gonna try and fix that as well.

I think that's a bit small. On mine i have big black cables for ground.. Will take pics tomorrow while trying to figure out where the truck is pissing the fuel from...

That small ground wire is providing a ground for the body to the battery (thru the motor). It shouldn't affect the the glow plugs too much. But replace it if you find it's corroded or down to one strand left carrying the connection.

The glow plugs are grounded to the batteries thru the main battery cables connected between the block and batteries.

ok I pulled the resistor and connected those 2 wires together. I plan on replacing them with a single wire very soon, this just to see if it worked. And it did sorta. I went to about 7-8 seconds and a lil revs and it started.

Sounds like your making progress. Did you test your glowplugs yet?

The glow plugs themselves are in great shape and heat very quickly. I tried them in the truck and heat time has been cut in half but I believe it can be better. im replacing the cables the went to and from the resistor pack with one 6 gauge cable. I think I need a fuse in there somewhere, gonna go back and read some.

Also I noticed the thin ground cable from the battery the runs to the radiator support is frayed and also hanging on by just a hair:haha:

Well.... I replaced the ground strap fixed the broken wires(there were several). Cleaned some of the junction block and all the power connections and any any grounds I could see. The result is a 6 second wait for the gp's and it turns over with the engine cold:D

Im pretty happy and not embarrassed with not having to crank flip switch crank flip switch crank vroom.:haha::D
Im gonna go the junction and clean it all. Im going to replace the wires that run to the gp's also being that I believe they are a problem waiting to happen.

Thanks you guys, there is no way and I mean no way I could have done this on my own.
