Changing oil (A joke email)

Pretty funny! Sounds like me when I change my fiance's Camaro ... damn thing sit so low ... have to jack it up so high just to get under. Freaks her out (and me sometimes) when I back-up and take a look at how high the front-end is up. One of these days, it will probably snap the jack stands and kill me. Better than taking it to some quick lube and being charged the synthetic oil price for the cheapest/bulk oil. Love changing the oil on the K-5 ... no jack stands to mess with. By the way, what kind of oil do you guys use ... I use Mobil Tri Synthetic.

Synthetic Quaker State? I used the 4x4 Synthetic Blend Quaker State a while back and didn't like it. I've got a very slight leak on the valve stem guides ... thus I have a puff of smoke on start-up when sitting overnight. When I used QS it was a lot worse ... the oil burned? With Mobil 1 Tri Synthetic I hardly ever see the puff of smoke on start-up ... oil doesn't burn? Based on their commercials seems like they are telling the truth and most top performance cars come with Mobil 1 Tri Synthetic from the factory (i.e. Corvettes). My dad (and me at one time) loves QS. I still think they are good but from what I hear nothing beats Mobil 1 Tri Synthetic.

My Chemistry teacher back in high school used to work for some oil place in town. Me and some of the other car guys were asking him what all he did and he said they took different samples of oil and tested them. I don't think he ever said anything about synthetic types, but for just regular oil, he said Quaker State came out on top almost all the time. I've had pretty good luck with it.
