I had a small block engine, with only 60,000 miles on it, loose a lifter with no warning. The engine was a medium duty 4-bolt main small block from a large mass producer of rebuilt engines. I have read some articles and posts that China is manufacturing most hydraulic lifters these days because the demand is low due to the emergence of roller lifters.
I would assume that most of the major camshaft manufactures, such as Edelbrock and CompCams are currently selling the cheap Chinese lifters with their camshaft kits. Now that I need to replace my camshaft and lifters, on this engine, what would be the best way to buy a low performance RV camshaft with a reliable set of hydraulic lifters?
This engine is connected to an OBD-1 ECM, with throttle body injection.
