well for starters i am new to this, i was wondering whats would be the cheapest way to lift my dodge 01 1500. all suggestion welcome even homemade ideas. i have a friend who is awesome at welding and fabricating....please help me

No offence since this is a GM based site I suggest that you find a site that caters to the Dodge. You might want to try Pirate4x4 they will help with any vehicle brands

I put a tuff country 3" lift on my GFs old 01 1500 ram. Cost like $700 or so with shocks. I also have a friend with a 1/2 ton ram that we took the left over springs and control arms off a friends 2500 cummins truck that was lifted and put those parts on the 1500 along with a 2" leveling kit on the front and he is running 35s with no probs. You can get the leveling kits off ebay for like $50. The shock application difference is 4" between a 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton so I imagine is could be equivilent to a 3-4" lift with just the HD suspension parts.
