I adapted a TBI system to my 77swb with a howell harness custom cut, i started the truck up and it ran (idle was around 2k but it was very cold). The check engine light is on and stays on. I assumed it was due to a trouble code so I jumped the diagnostic port out, it just reads 12 over and over again, I assume thats good but the light never goes off. I just wired the warning light (from radio shack) connecting the two wires from the harness to the two wires on the light. any ideas what i did wrong? also i havent left the drive way, i found a small coolant leak by the coolant temp sensor and its being repaired. thanks

It will flash 12, 3 times before starting the stored codes each three times, then 12 three times at end.

If all you get is 12 there could be a chip/ECM issue. Howell has great tech support.
