1/2 ton status
- I will recheck the torque on the ring gear bolts.
- I did not use the original carrier bearings. I have one new bearing on the side with the master shim, and a setup bearing made from a die grinder (it was a new bearing before that . I coould not get the old ones off without breaking them)
- Yes, I am fully torquing the bearing caps on before checking the pattern and/or BL measurements
- I am not the original owner of the axle, but from what I can tell, the yoke looks good (a little dirty, but no damage or siezed bearing caps)
- Since I am not changing the gears, just the carrier, I was hoping I would not have to set the pinion also. I did buy new gears before I even came across the axle, so I do have brand new spicer 4.56 and master install kit if needed.
I will post up what I find on friday morning.
