I just got the heads up that they're putting our Doubler into the Duramax/Allison powered urban gorilla bodied suburban conversion thing and it'll be on this sunday. I'll have to record it since I'll be riding around in Wally about that time but it should be pretty cool. Thought some of you all might think so too.
 
That is cool. The problem is that I see who the hell can afford a TTduramax/beefed allison combo. I wish they would build something practical for the motor like a junkyard Cummins and beef that so it wouldn't cost $100,000. Okay I am done venting

Props on your parts being used in ANYTHING :bow:

They use a metal workstand my Father in law invented on there show and on Trucks. Always cool to see your stuff on TV. :D
 
i thought the smae damn thing.fyi: that conversion is real cheap (depending on who your comparing it too), like 10,000 for the basic kit, they are just going way overboard on the drivetrain though. i wouldnt mind having it, but i could never afford it.

The Duramax even sounds a bit racy for a tow vehicle but they do call it extreme. I'm just anxious to see some parts on TV, that should be pretty cool. And I'd like to see how they mated the allison and 203. I didn't get all the details on that part, it was pretty up in the air the last time we talked. I can tell you this show doesn't have much lead time, it wasn't very long ago that we sent the kit and some parts to them. I expected to wait longer.

the suburban is turning into a hummer

i have my tivo set to record this every week end and i saw the begining of this build last week end and apparently sum1 out there is making a kit to turn 73-90 suburbons into hummers and it not fiberglass the got a brand new duramax and had gale banks there and they were talking about the motor was a 1 of a kind twin turbo or something..the sub had a perfect grille and it showed them ripping it out by hand in pieces..i was like i could use that then they toke the body off and showed the hummer body and they moved the body mounts and bolted it on...just to fit everything so they can take it back apart to send everything to its repective coating place ..like sandblast and powdercoat frame while the brand new hummer body goes to paint...etc....wish i had bottom less pockets
 
i wouldnt mind doing a conversion like that, with no lift you can fit 38" tires no rub and ive seen one w/ 4" and 44's, it was a rough country lift so prolly no flex but 4" and 42's would look awsome!
 
just found out huh? they mentioned the "transfer case-- OR CASES..." on Sunday, and im gonna bet you a pretty good chunk of coin that they're not waiting tomorrow to tape the show. nice try though. :rolleyes:
