:D

So since moving to Wyoming my fab levels had been on slow to none.

As some may recall I have gotten a pretty good gig building utility racks for the local power company.

Seems like it should be 3 to 4 rigs a year. Which is actually pretty awesome for me.

They like what I have done so far.

Thought I would make a post about it.

First one I did for a F250 on the natural gas side of the company

In progress pics

In this one you can see the weirdness of this rack. He wanted to be able to see out the rear window. And he can.

I also mounted a vise holder and braced up the stock bumper

This first one was kind of a hard one cause I hadn't expected anything and had been procrastinating getting stuff set up.

Nothing like a job to force you to get set up.

Next one was my buddies 5500 Dodge

This was built as a much more heavy duty rack

I suck sometimes at pics didn't get many in progress shots

Short side. This truck is getting a crane at some point.

Long side in progress

All together.

This one got a bunch of LED lights too.

It has three wire reels on the headache rack you can unspool and cut without getting in the bed.

It also has an adjustable height spool holder on the back. For the BIG wire spools the ones that weigh a ton or more. Plus you can lock it in on both sides.

This is a feature these guys really liked.

Built a bumper for this truck too.

I am now working on the third truck for them.

A F350, this is the line supervisors truck. He doesn't need the way beefy rack I built for the 5500.

What I have so far.

Uprights.

This one had the aluminum boxes already mounted so I am going to the floor of the bed. Which I hate but oh well.

These are the top rails and the e tracks that are gonna mount to them.

I have been counter sinking all the fasteners.

These are the floor plates.

Nice! Looks good so far. Sounds like a sweet gig. Curious what the bottle rack on the first ones for?

Looks great and like a lot of fun. I have been working so much damn OT I haven't been able to heat any metal lately. Starting to jones!

when I saw "my rack" I was hoping it wasn't "moobs"!
congrats on the jobs!
