cheep winch brands warning ! ! !

I may be able to get you a better price on the Smittybilt, let me know when you're ready.

i will do.. im planning on calling all the big buys up and see if i can get a dent center unit or something... originally I bought one of the Ramsey Patriot 15k units from a ramsey person that was on the forums. havent seen him or heard from him (sent messages) to find out if i can get another deal. I ended up selling it cuz i never used it but I didnt really drive much. Now I am driving more and after getting stuck recently.. I NEED a winch again...

We wheel alone way too much to trust one of those winches! Have picked up many wheelers hiking out because their discount winch either failed or would not pull them out. Out here in Washington they spray a ton of de-icer on the roads, so if you wheel much at all after October it's all over the roads. It will destroy those discount winches in a season if they are not washed after every trip. I hate spending the major cash it takes for a high end winch also, but the 3 I have on 2 different rigs have more than paid for themselves in the backcountry.

Hf has its place on cheap tools but I wouldn’t cheap out in something that may be needed to save your life or your rig in a bad situation. That winch may be the only thing that you have to use to recover yourself. I would hate to have to walk out and leave my truck behind as it may not be the same when you get back.

Dont wheel alone.. and ive got 2x hilift jacks with jackmate. Gonna carry 2x12x4s as well

More than one guy I know who wheels off road and plows, carries a 4 ton come-a-long and a 3500 lb hand cranked winch with them, and a snatch block--those always work when your battery dies,or the electric winch decides to take a dump..
