I'm trying to find some info on this 2003 Chevy silverado stepside ss I found for sale. I can't find anything on how many they made or what they go for. I googled everything I could think of and kbb doesn't have it as a option. Any help would be awesome

My guess is that they just added the stickers and such....

Tell them to send you a picture of the RPO tag in the glove box, and research all of the RPO's. There will be a specific RPO for it (just like there is for "Z71") if it is true.

Pretty sure there wasn't a newer SS than the early 90's. Lots of dealer "sticker packages" and the like. Rims, stickers, lowered suspension. That kind of stuff.

I'd go see the truck and see what its about, but don't expect the 454ss reincarnated.

Around '04 or so (I don't know the year(s) of them) there was a Silverado SS, they were AWD extended cab shortbeds with lower cladding. I think they had the 6.0 too?

I stand corrected. I forgot about those. They were pretty cool :haha:

I couldn't get ahold of the owner so I sont know motor size or mileage but here are some pics

Checked the vin it says 5.3 v8 lt but nothing about ss. What would you pay guessing it has 100k senior citizen owner

NOT an SS.

That's a dealer custom sticker package and some cheesy chrome wheels on a Silverado stepside. You could outfit a truck with accessories from GM the catalog and order it right from the factory with them already installed. I'm sure some dealers took advantage of this to have a fancy truck in the showroom or to try and showcase the accessory catalog to try and get customers to buy the dealer installed upgrades.

As said previously, the SS trucks were ext cab shortbed fleetside models only. They had a specific (painted) grill and specific bumper(s) along with nice looking factory wheels. I know the first models were AWD 6.0 trucks but I also vaguely remember later models being 2wd (optional maybe?).

Yea not a ss, I got ahold of the lady and she says it was owned by the owner of a hot rod shop, he chipped it, lowered it, did the side pipe dual exhaust and the rims. She says it has 18k on it but she didn't know what her husband wanted for it ( he's disabled and can't drive) I'm thinking its worth 6 to 8 but I want to buy it to flip so I don't want to pay more than 4

That thing looks cheap and cheesy imo. What kind of hot rod shop dresses up a truck like that?

im guessing they added the badging, but its a sweet looking ride eitherway:waytogo:

I am not a fan of step sides or lowered trucks or 2wd but if it was a ss stepside it would be very rare and worth $ so I wanted to flip it which I still might just to make a few k

This is a perfect mexican truck, I want to buy it, do some doughnuts and burnouts then sell it.
