Chevy's in the wild

think a gmt400 is a poor choice, for that graft
Kinda why I loved my 2001 S10, my first car. Fast forward after the Blazer...came the '68 C10 and noticed A LOT of styling cues why I liked the S10 so much.

That graft and bed needs some work but I dig it. Good attempt

This thing caught me by surprise tonight close to my house, Mississippi tag so I guess he was passing through. Pretty cool looking - 1 tons, high steer w/ assist, etc. I LOVE the front bumper, I wanted one so bad when I had a K10 (I’d still buy one).

Stopped for a couple of minutes for a looky but no one ever came out.

Wish I could have gotten a pic of the front.
Had about a 6" cowl hood.
Sounded like a stock engine though .
In great shape.

Didnt realize it was a grand sport behind me or I'd have gotten a better pic.

This truck might be possibly be a K30 with the D60 swapped ( appears to be a 10B ) - fender emblem says Chevy 20 series “Custom Deluxe” and dash emblem is GMC lingo along with the tailgate but that doesn’t mean much.
The interesting part is that it has a 10.5” FF rear axle instead of the 9.5” SF and the T-case shifter suggests NP-205 instead of NP-208.
By this time any component could be swapped out but if someone was look’n for a K30 ( that needs a front end swap ) this might be worth looking into.

There’s one near me that lives that example. Crew cab with a shortened frame and shortened short bed. In the description, the guy goes into a bit of detail about the frame shortening and bed shortening. Sounds like they did a good job. However, it has some built 305 and 10 bolt axles. A lot of of the pictures seem to indicate it was even built this way and used this way. All that work and it’s a crappy 305 and overworked 10 bolts.

I had a CCSB on a modified suburban frame with all half ton drivetrain.
Cool, but why...?
The crappy frame work and the worn out half ton chit is why I sold it.
Should have kept it and upgraded. Live and learn I guess lol
