Chevy's in the wild

I had a CCSB on a modified suburban frame with all half ton drivetrain.
Cool, but why...?
The crappy frame work and the worn out half ton chit is why I sold it.
Should have kept it and upgraded. Live and learn I guess lol

I remember that one. Wasn’t one of the diffs not filled with oil when you bought it?

This one has a short, short bed. Like maybe 4’. I guess to make it fit in garages?

Looks like decent work though. Looks good and sounds like they did the frame and body work correctly…

…but then you rebuilt a 305 for more power and put half ton axles under it…wtf? 3/4 ton axles would have been an easy swap with the frame and body blown apart. Has pictures of it towing s long bumper pull car hauler with a big truck on it. 35” or so Swampers in most of the pics. 6 lugs the whole time.
WTF?

Had a bunch of rust in one pumpkin I believe.
Had to have had lube of some kind because I picked it up in the dark in a parking lot 3 hrs from home and drive it here somehow lol.
Wasn't till morning that I even noticed the 6 lugs :doah:
I was just so excited to buy it that I gave it a glance over mad handed out cash lol.
Once the daylight came I noticed a LOT of PO hackery.
Like MANY bare hot wires hanging out under the dash and the engine bay. Not just cut, but stripped too. Body was nice, rest was a nightmare lol.

This truck might be possibly be a K30 with the D60 swapped ( appears to be a 10B ) - fender emblem says Chevy 20 series “Custom Deluxe” and dash emblem is GMC lingo along with the tailgate but that doesn’t mean much.
The interesting part is that it has a 10.5” FF rear axle instead of the 9.5” SF and the T-case shifter suggests NP-205 instead of NP-208.
By this time any component could be swapped out but if someone was look’n for a K30 ( that needs a front end swap ) this might be worth looking into.

NP203, not NP205.

It's pieced together for sure.

Most around here are because it's hard to find good solid pieces that aren't corroded to dust lol.

There was a beautiful silver short bed 4x4 on my way in, at a park on an even smaller island just off the town.
We went back out to it to eat lunch but it was gone.

The place with the boat truck from the NON Chevy thread also has a VERY lifted square behind it but I didn't want to stop on the main road to get the pick.

They tend to get water everywhere lol.
The actual river side of town, and the one northern road in are levee high.
The now lake side does raise up and get into people's yards and such on that side though if it's bad enough.
