Chevy's in the wild

Man that looks hokey as all get out. Who comes up with something like that?
I have seen it quite a few times around here. It's usually on trucks that go out in the oakbrush hunting.

I can't believe that you aren't anxious to have yours get set up like that!
:D

Is it all welded on or bolt on? What is the purpose?
It depends on the fabricator.
The purpose is to deflect oakbrush and small tree limbs from pushing the body panels in, and to also break some of the limbs out of the way. And it will take a bigger hit against a tree than the body.

I have never done this to a truck, but I have ventured into the brush enough to see why some do it. Some of the branches intruding into the trails can crease the body easily. And if you want to go find elk, most will need to get off of the main dirt and gravel roads further than the required 50'.
