We’re debating that at the moment. Factory paperwork lists as an L47
He’s pulling a valve cover, but it has a 1067 intake…
We can't figure out if it's a 396 or 402. Truck was ordered in April of '69, built in May of '69, but that doesn't seem to help much. And apparently the original owner swapped the intake, carb and air cleaner very early in its life.

I would assume 396 just based on production date but who knows what GM was doing preparing for all the changes for 1970 at the Tonawanda plant.
In the end it’s the same basic size with about a .030 over bore adjustment - kind of like Pontiac upping the ante with the 389 to the 400 just to keep up in the game.
Chevy just couldn’t have a small block with more cubes than a big block in 1970 but the advertisers and marketing teams messed that all up with jumbling up all the size references and engines for a few years. Damn corporate fools !

Just a few pics from Cruis’n the Coast on Thursday down in Mississippi along the Gulf of Mexico - most of the time there was just too many spectators in the way to get good shots.
@nvrenuf was more patient and has a lot more pics but still could not do justice to the amount of worthy cars in the whole event.

I was watching a movie called Haunted Mansion with the family yesterday (truthfully, I was playing on my phone while the movie was on in the background) and my daughter shouted out "Dad, it's your Jimmy!"
We rewound the movie, and sure enough, the main character drives a slightly crusty K5 Blazer.
