Looking for a starting chip for a 454 and a manual trans. I'm still using the 7747 ECM with my 350 tbi now and i'm going to swap in a 454. I have a complete 454 with tbi now but need a BIN file to start programming. Moates has a bunch but somebody has to have an idea of a good one to start with? I can burn my own and want to do away with the EGR and run everthing else including my VSS this should be a straight swap for the 350 right?? What year did GM run the high pressure fuel pumps with the tbi and the 454??

I have a good starter .bin file for a 454 with manual trans. The timing table is much improved. The .bin is from "mail order" chip company. Send me a PM, then I can email you the .bin file as an attachment.

I think 87 ~ 91 454 throttle bodies were low pressure? I think 92 ~ 95 454 throttle bodies were high pressure?

I don't know why everyone wants to delete their EGR? It does a good job at reducing a nasty pollutent and it keeps combustion chamber temps down, on a stock to fairly stock motor there is no loss of HP..... But if you do then you must change EGR enabled fueling and also have to reduce spark advance during EGR.

Another issue with your swap may be, there's no knock sensor on 454 that I have ever seen. These were all the early type. So disable knock. If you use your 5.7L knock sensor it will be wrong frequency as there are many differant knock sensors. But still useful during tuning if you can get the feel of when and where it kicks in. Then have timing buno into knock and back out 2 degrees, turn off knock.

The reason I was going to remove the EGR was the manifold I got don't have the provision for it. The stock iron manifold is junk and I have an aluminum carb manifold and an adaptor plate. But never-the-less I bailed on the project and bought a 2001 GMC 2500HD with a 8.1 allison.
