Choice of all terrains

never had an issues with BFG tires.. always lasted a long time..my old blazer had
BFG KM 33x12.5x 15 (older style) ..they lasted me almost 80k+ miles with a good alignment

but if taken care of BFG all terrain KO's last a long time

BFG all terrains are the only tire I've ever had separate on me. Two different sets, two different trucks, 10yrs apart. Not saying they're bad tires, but given a choice, I'll buy something else.

The best at tire for the street I have had is the nitto terra grappler. I had them on a k1500 that had BFg ats before. The nittos were quieter, got better gas mileage, and performed way better in snow.

It's a bit late now, but I'll pipe in anyway since nobody has mentioned them. The Hankook DynaPro MT. They are mild for an MT, so if you want something between a AT and an MT, they are a wise choice. They ride very nice, balance very well, not too noisy at all, and they seem to last a while like a BFG. Mine have about 10K on them and they still look just about new.

Don't have them on the truck yet, but I really like them.

I have a set on my F150 and love them. For an A/T, they are really aggressive but rather quiet. For my SUV, I've run the Bridgestone Dueler for years and really like them as well.

If you want a tire that has incredible tire wear, Bridgestone Dueler A/T Load rating E...the compound is hard they just dont wear (with proper alignment) but they dont do well in snow

Question

Kind of off topic, but not really.

What kind of tire would be good for snow? I have often heard people comment that my BFG AT's would not be good in snow, or every other AT for that matter.

Is it just A/T's not being good in snow, or is it something else? What about M/T's?

Based on reviews that I read, the Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs are good in the snow. They do have the mountain/snowflake rating.

Really depends on what type of snow and conditions you have. Packed snow/ice and shallow powdery snow the BFG ATs on my DD run circles around my current TSL's or other mud terrain radials on the K5. Heavy, wet, and deep snow more aggressive tires work better.
