Ok if it wasnt for CK5 my blazer would still be stock and really pretty:D. But since I've found this site, being stock and keeping it on the street just isnt cool. Well so I started taking it offroad and putting small scraths in the paint from driving through the woods, but I wanted to fit in. So I needed more. Well so I got a lift 6" lift kit and of course you need bigger tires to go with it. So I pull all my saving for my new truck to get it so I would be one of the guys or so I though. Cant be one of the guys when your on the street and everyone else is not:(. Well I went wheeling this weekend and suffered my first really body damage. Since Im running 6" lift with 36" tires and no fender trimming I finally smashed up the corner of my fender:(. Well since I blame yall for the damage, becuase yall peer presured me into modifying my truck. I will leave this up to yall. Fix the damaged fender or break out the cut off wheel?

HERE IS WHAT YALL HAVE MADE ME DO SO FAR.

I think I will proble end up seeing a 14/60 combo in the future to:(

you got a nice nice truck, I'd go ahead and take the money away from something else and fix it, then trim it some so maybe it won't happen, or happen as bad. That is a sweet sweet lookin k5

That's some pretty insignificant damage IMO, cut the fenders so it won't happen again. You can cut it and still have it look good, there have even been a few people who kept the stock trim.

Oh I'm with you on this. Here what mine looked like the day I picked her up:

It's an addiction man. Once you start you can't stop. I chewed my passenger fender up pretty good going through a ditch about 2 days after I got my tires and wheels on. I just beat it back out. :doah:

I run a 4in lift and 36 tsl's and I just cut my fenders. Your best bet is to cut the lip of the out fender flush to the fire wall and get a zero rate to move the axle forward. You wont rub for sh1t then.

you both need to quit yur whining and get to :weld::hack::grind::weld::hack::grind::saweet: fabbin :D

I cut the corners off the front fenders where tires usually rub. Then rolled the metal over and put the chrome trim back on. You cant even tell I cut them.

Pics please.

Thanks,

That is proble what I will end up doing. I want to just replace the fender but I know it will just end up happing again. So I guess the cut off wheel will be coming out next week.

Oh yeah I forgot, nice blazer John Deere. Your blazer makes me wish my truck was black and shinny.

Hmmmm yep CK5 made mine what it is today. A show type truck that gets more and more character.

3 dents in left rear quarter some scratches on the bumpers, and some small denting on the nerf's. Enjoyed every minute and going in the snow next saturday. Woo Hoo Can't Wait.

Same here. It's a must.

If you trim and follow the body line, it will still look decent. Just go back a half inch.

WOW you call that damage, just wait it gets worse. I think you need to break out that cutting wheel.

yeah i understand what you mean.. my truck was pretty mint when i got it.. but check out this trim job on my fenders.. .looks pretty sweet i think, i cut the fenders back to the firewall, welded the inner fender to the outter and check out how it looks, not half bad eh?

That's a sad sight. I've got the same kinks on my fenders. And my Jimmy was in damn good shape when I bought it too for having factory paint, and just the normal body rust. After a few trips down 4-wheeler trails in the woods, I've got some nasty scratches.

I'm still afraid to get out the cutting wheel and start cutting on my body. I'd say just leave it like it is and let the tires re-arrange it they way they want it ;)

mine was very nice before i got it too. but ive got a few dents and some nice custom pinstripes now. im not too worried about body damage anymore
i put a zero rate in the front and left that part how it was all boogered up. then cut the front of the fender, it looks pretty good IMO.
