Don't do it man!!! I still refuse to cut my fenders, and mine have been mangled pretty bad by the tires. I have a 4" lift with a 2" body lift running 35"s. Check out my damage that I have incured:

They've gotten much worse since i took these pictures last fall. I have also gotten 2 nice dents on my front driverside fender from idiots pushing on my truck. Also I have a nice crease in the door from when I tried to shut it with my shoulder...:mad: I had an imaculate body before then too... Check it out:

its a good thing the after market makes the replacement pieces that they do, otherwise out trucks would be a dying breed after they've been thrashed on and beat so hard they just aren't fixable. they need to start making complete cabs in my opinion

blowedup yours looks stock like it came from gm that way. i wouldn't cut but after seeing yours im starting to rethink my strategy for my k10

WOW I would cut mine IF they would turn out like that...

Thanks for the compliments y'all! I'm very happy how they turned out! The cutting allows enough room for 37's on a 3" lift. (With proper bumpstops of course but, the bumpstop length was determined more by having to allow room for the crossover steering than it was by fender room). We just thought it out carefully, put blue tape (3M painter's tape) where the cuts would be, and clarkjw24 took a grinder with a good cut-off wheel to it (and a saw-zall in the tricky core support area). Then, I cleaned up the cuts a little with a grinding disc and a file, touched them up (it's actually black touch up paint but, ya can't tell in a photo), if I'd had color matched touch up paint, I would have used it but, I didn't. :doah: I'm really happy how it turned out! If ya want close up of the cutting, just let me know and I'll do my best to pic whore! :D

some people have more patience than others :doah: im not sure how you had the patience to sit there and clean up the cuts without going crazy on them. and i noticed the way you have them cut it makes it look like its moving when its standing still:D

I took my time when cutting these fenders (also it such a nice rig, I didn't want to mess it up). I've cut up lots of other rigs also but this was prob the best job I've done. Practice makes perfect!

Another shot of Morgan's rig testing the clearances on the ramp.
