Don't consider anything yours until you have paid for it and it's in YOUR possession. I've heard about too many people who think they got burned by assuming it was theirs. When you break down the word assume here is what you get. Makes an Ass out of U and Me. :D

Should have 4.56's if it's out of a military pick-up, not 4.10's. Have you seen it in person?

Haven't seen it yet. I have been talking to this guy for a month now. He was tryin to sell the whole truck. I just wanted the 60. He sold the cab and big block. So now he is getting rid of the axles. There is a 14 bolt rear for 300 also. I don't care to much about the gears, as I'm puttin in 5.13's. Is there a differance between carriers in 4.11 and 4.56? Its missing hubs, but a have a set of sparco hubs for it. Don't know anything about these hubs. When I do the gears I will be putting on some Warn hubs. I'm 95% sure this guy is for real, he has a couple built chevys now and was willing to help me with my motor swap a few weeks ago.
 
There is a case split of 4.10-down and 4.56-up.

I would be asking him if the locking hubs are missing or the wheel hubs. I'm sure it's probably the locking hubs but once again, it's not good to AssUMe. :D

It is missing the locking hubs, not the wheel hubs. Some of them came with a Detroit in the front? Didn't know that.

500 for a 60 is a steal even if it doesn't have hubs!

That's what I was thinking. $1100.00 is the going rate, if you can find one. I have been waiting for this day for many many yrs.:D

Doesn't happen much in Sacramento either. I paid $1200 for a DRW 60 plus a 14 bolt. So I paid about $1100 for the 60 and that is after 3 months of checking craigslist twice a day...
 
I paid $750.00 for my D60 about 8 years ago and the guy drove his rig to my house and WE swapped it out of his rig in my driveway in under an hour.
 
So, what do you think a D44 8 lug w/ 4.09 is worth? 100-200?

Now I have a lot to learn about servicing a D60!

My MIL owns a sushi restaraunt. I just got back from eating all the free sushi and beer I could eat and drink.

Well, given the economy and the lack of people looking for D44 stuff much anymore I would say 100.00 is a fair price but I would start at 200.00 to give yourself some room to barter on the price.

I wouldn't have a problem coming down to help with something if you really needed me and I could talk the wife out of a weekend away BUT fuel would kill me driving my rig.

I can eat but sushi IS NOT something I would ever eat.
