I'm close, in Marlton (cherry hill area, RT70 and RT73 area), about 35min from williamstown I use to do some work down your way. I feel like I saw your truck like a week ago up in my area, it was in front of laurel oak garden center, near cherokee high school, but I am not sure if it was to, but it was big and bad like your truck. I am guess the reason you can run 40 inch tires is beause you have a 1 ton and for that GVW the limit is 11.5 inchs above stock (i think). How much lift do you have to run 40 inch tires, does 8 inches with the cut outs fit 40's?
Are the people at the winslow inspection a pain?
I want to lift my blazer 6 inchs and run 36" or 37" tires, of course I will need fender flares and probably get the cut outs to run a larger tire. I didn't know that you needed front mud flaps, that blows, I hate the look of mud flap that is why i was thinking about the clear one, I don't off road or anything right now but if I lift it I may do some trail riding, nothing to hard core thats why i was thinking about the clear flaps plus I really want to do a resto-mod on my blazer, get a rust free tub from out west, anyway,
I would love to see your truck, maybe we could meet up sometime, that truck looks sweet.
It is rare to see and old chevy truck on the road, and even more rare to see one as cool as yours.
Tom
well i am next to geets diner on the black horse pike....
sure we can meet up... it wasnt my truck you saw.... mine hasnt touched the roads in 2.5 years... although it will hopefully in a month..
The other night i sanded and primered the tailgate and passenger bedside...
yesterday before the rain (took a me day from work) and got the passenger fender, door, bed side, roof and hood sanded and primed...
next is take the snorkel off and get the passenger side door and fender.....i left them for last as they are in the worst shape.....
gonna hate to say this but im gonna paint the truck FORD blue!!!!! tractor supply on crosskeys road has it for $32 a gallon.. only blue they have... you use a roller and paintbrush as it is farm equipment paint.... figure that will be easy to touch up....
my lift is tricky... i still dont know what it all entails.... i can tell you one thing... my truck is a camper special so it is a 8400gvrw which puts me in the highest category... think it is
gvrw 0 - 4500 - 35's and 7" total lift
gvrw 4501 - 7400 - 36's and 9" total lift
gvrw 7401 - 10000 - 38's and 11" total lift
forget the numbers.. call them up and say... hey i have X and what is the max i can do...
basically i had to fit 38's under my truck and keep the door at 33" to the bottom with the door open.. (thank god as my upper door hinge is broke and the door droops about an inch... hahaha im keeping it that way for that reason....
the original guy (Dave) was cool... too cool.. they moved him to Manahawkin.... when i went there.. I failed for emissions... I came back a month later running guaranteed to pass and passed emmissions... then he said.. hey just to let you know.. here are a few things i would recommend fixing.... but still passed me...
now they moved him and got a pair of toughies in there... they didnt like my coat hangers holding up my exhaust, they didnt like my power steering puking on their floor....
legit failures...
no front mudflaps
too many aux lights.... allowed only 2... i have 4 on front bumper and 5 on rollbar.. even though 5 on rollbar are for show as they are broke and not wired.. they didnt care...
best thing i found is call them every 2 years before inspection and talk to them and see what has changed, not changed and save yourself alot of headaches.. plus they appreciate it.. if you call and say.. hey i want to make sure i make this easy on you and myself... then when you are scheduled to go... remind him...
afaik, you shouldn't be getting checked for mudflaps anymore in Joysey, at least on a standard inspection... maybe on a stability check... but regular inspection should just be a sniffer test now...
oooh contrair... i have to call and find out myself because they are doing that on normal inspection.... but even there.. they are only doing the sniff test.... but if you have tint.... they cant fail you but the cop can pull you over right as you pull out of inspection....
it is to lower the workers needed to operate state inspections....
i will update what is needed by the high rise test in a bit....
