clearing really big tires cheaply questions

i dont wanna cut too much. i gotta trim some damage though. id rather use suspension to clear my tires. seneymudbogg.com
thats where we play

http://www.seneymudbogg.com/rules.html Well buy the rules it might be an ok place to go, if you had posted up some of that Trucks Gone Wild stuff I would have just wrote you off as a dip**** .

Drinking and all the other asshatery that goes on at those events makes ALL wheeler look bad and the Enviro Nazi's use pics from those events to close down wheeling areas.

Anyways back to your truck, Suspension should be built to allow the truck to conform to the terrain , Lift is secondary . all the lift in the world won't do you a bit off good unless you can keep the tires in contact with the ground .

If your junk is so stiff that you can't stay on the gas in the ruff **** then whats the point??

Cut Your fenders, Keep it low as possible the flexy suspension and Low center of gravity works in the mud , I don't care what the those guys with the Penis extension trucks say.

NOW that being said, the Suspension I laid out to you in the previous post will give you right about 10" of lift with Mild cutting you will clear 44's easy.

This is my Girlfriends truck 4" lift with a 2" bodylift those are 42" TSL's

I know everyone is mainly talking suspension to clear the tires for the mud but dont overlook all the other aspects for the mud. Important things like getting fresh air not muddy water into the engine is a must. I destroyed an engine in my last truck back in Georgia because of this. Also extend the breathers for everything and seal or grease all of you electrical connections, and an electric fan instead of a clutch fan is a great plus if you plan on hitting water that would come in contact with your fan(also personal expierence) And that is all just to start with.

Just dont overlook everything else and get stuck on suspension.:waytogo:

What are you planning for a cage

Did he mention it is LOUD. I guess it would be ok for a bit but after a full day of wheeling it may get annoying.

Panty hose over the stock snorkel works pretty well.

as far as a cage im still working on a good design. im going with DIY4X's competition dash board just cause its cool and i can run along the door edge up front and protect the front seats with probably a x frame inside the roof of the cab. im keeping the back seat in for passengers so im still messing on the drafting table to figure out a good way to safely protect the brave souls that wanna ride with me. im probably gonna leave the stock floor pans but attach the seats to the bottom portion of the cage tied into the frame sp they wont move. plus it gives me a good place to anchor the 5 points

oh and about the trucks gone wild and the Evironmentalists getting pissy. they tried that at Seney. we tossed them out the gate on their you know whats and shipped them off to the Polk county jail for 2 weeks. tresspassing and enciting a riot lol. seney west georgia dallas mudders park ect around here are all on private property. they can take a hike cause we dont care. besides for the 50 acres thats the bogg the rest of the property is QDM and the owner is a member of every conservation group imaginable that supports hunting and the outdoors. we got a name for the new hippie environmental save the whale types...rookies. we've been doing that same stuff for years

I say lift that biatch to the sky and put biggest tires you can find on it.

I don't care what anyone says. Those mud partys are fun. Down in the south they don't have many options as far as trails or anything other than mud.

Thats the wrong attitude, it doesn't matter if its on Private land or not . the enviro-nazi take the pictures and videos of of the Internet and use that as ammo to close down PUBLIC areas .

Alcohol and wheeling don't mix Period.

Tread Lightly, on public OR private land.

Be safe, and be respectful to other user groups.

And Don't think for a minute that just because its private land that a law can't be passed to restrict you from doing it. All it takes is money and greenies have alot of it

I like that Seney has a No alcohol policy, and a no Bed rider policy . If I was gonna go to a "mudfest" It would be at a place like that.............But all the booty fab and booger welds on some of those trucks scares the crap out of me

I've never seen trucks gone wild, but yeah, some of those guys are crappy at fabricating but some stuff is pretty nice.

I respect your opinion and agree that drinking and driving/wheeling don't mix, but if you want them to stop their mud fun just because the enviro nazis will use it against people then they have already won. If they want to tromp through a mudpit and fling crap everywhere on private property then more power to them. I say have fun and let her rip.

I'm not saying don't have fun,

I'm talking about running over trees, and other stupid crap that you see on those videos , it makes us ALL look bad .

I want to check out a video now...

Anyways about your truck. mwood1985 good luck with the build and hope to see some progress pictures whatever direction you go.

put em on photobucket, then just link em with the little mountain icon at the top...

Private property bogs get shut down on Michigan all the time. Be careful how you treat those that complain.

Was going to say the same thing........just because it's private property doesn't mean you can do whatever you want with it. I know of several off-road parks that were private property and got shut down by local authorities with assistance of the EPA. If there is any type of creek/stream or water drainage onto an adjoining property those people can cause problems.
