Those are the bes pics I have of the new sliders. Here are some of the old ones. The old ones were bolt on and 2x2 square. The step part on both is 1.5" square. I use square because I don't feel like slipping on round tube.

did you make those yourself? the area where my door closes is full of rust so i was thinking about going ahead and integrating rock sliders into it instead of just replacing the metal. i guess kill two birds in one stone. any suggestions out there?

Yes, I made them. They are tied to the frame and the cage is tied into all of it too. It's not that hard if you can cut and weld.

wayne...not sure why I can't view the photos...I am a paying member...any ideas?

Yes, I didn't renew my imageevent account. Kinda funny though is I just renewed it a couple hours ago. The pics should be back up shortly if they aren't already.

Looks like you clear real well. I was wondering how vibration free your driveline is now at speed. I have 4" lift and get a lot of vibs from 208 slip yoke movement and am geting ready to install a 241 w/JB SYE...hoping for a big improvement.

Did you buy or fab your bumpers? Like you family cage...

There is no difference with the rear shaft after it is clocked. The square front shaft does vibrate but that is to be expected. It's a trail only rig now so we are planning to change a few things untill we build a buggy. I am going to a Atlas 4spd t-case and will be getting my rear shaft retubed in heavy wall tube and getting a new front shaft made to be able to do some high speed stuff. I built the cage and bumpers. The only thing I didn't build was the tube doors because I won them.

You did a great job...nice score on winning the tube doors. I guess I didn't ask my question clearly. You may not have had any prior vibrations in 2WD at hiway speeds. If you had, I was wanting to know if the JB conversions SYE had made a noticable improvement in quieting your drivetrain. Many others have posted that benefit.

Thanks and I really can't answer that question about this K5 because I put the SYE in when I did the lift and axle swap back in the spring of 2003. My old K5 I had before this one was running the stock shaft with 4" of lift and just a slight vibration at 45 to 50 mph. On that one I had the stock shaft pointed up toward the t-case just like you would for a cv shaft.

When you get the new front shaft, let me know I'd be interested in that square shaft if you get rid of it.
