Clocking np208

I know this can be done but im wondering if anyone has experience with the drive shaft issues this brings up?

Im assuming the rear shaft stays the same, just shortens by the thickness of the adapter. The front shaft obviously increases the operating angle...apparently way too much for a stock cv.

Is there a cheapish way to handle this? Like building a 2 joint 1410 shaft? Doesnt need to be balanced at all. Ive seen people grind the cv but im not sure its anywhere near enough.

Theres a ton more ground to cover still so ill just wait on the doubler.

I suppose i should get it mocked up and take some measurements.
 
I think you'll be fine, just don't get to crazy with the clocking. Plus I wouldn't put a ton of energy into a 208 when you'll be running a reduction box later.

Gonna talk to k85 and see what he has for the front driveshaft.

In stock for the damn 208 hangs super low. I did a pirouette on it with the k5 on the rubicon and that was not cool lol.
 
Mine is flat and sucked up into the floor some, 1350 TW front shaft non-greaseable. IIRC non-grease allows a tiny bit more working angle, tiny bit.

I considered 1410 but I'm not sure if it would clear the 700r4 pan, Im close now. With the manual, it would clear easy.

I am very very close to binding at full droop and luckily there are no wear signs of that happening around the CV. My axle is 1.5" forward running TCHD springs. Any more flex and it would be an issue. A doubler or any setup longer than a 700/241 would be easier on the joints.
 
I clocked one flat and used a stock ground out cv but my suspension sat real close to stock height, maybe 1" over.

I had lots of droop but ran it for 3 years hard and never broke. Of course when I removed it for tear down I found out it was on borrowed time.
 
When I was mocking everything up, with my 241 clocked in the first set of holes on the ring (least amount of clocking) my stock driveshaft was bound at ride height. That was with 52's in front.

What trans and front axle? Was the axle pushed forward?
