OK guys, where to begin...
I have a 72 blazer that had a perfectly functioning th350/205 that I had the great idea to swap with a 465/205 I bought. I figured while I was at it I would convert to hydro clutch because it would be nice around town and for my wife. The tranny I got was out of a 79 1 ton, the hydro bellhousing was out of an 87. So last weekend I took everything out and got the new tranny hung. I then put the rest together monday and hooked up the hydraulics. Tuesday I got them bled, but the clutch would not release. So I started looking, and thought maybe I had the wrong throwout bearing (the clutch kit I got was for the 72 from napa). So I started digging and found out that there are either 2 or 3 options (depending on where you go, and who you ask) one is 1 1/4", one is 1 1/2" and one is 1 7/8". I actually now have all three, including the $100 1 1/2" from summit racing and still have no release. The 1 7/8" seemed too tall and the clutch fork was almost sitting against the bell housing, so we ended up not trying it. I have the 1 1/2" in there now, and like I said, still not releasing. The slave is pushing out pretty far, but not quite all the way, so I'm not sure if it doesn't have the strength or what.
I don't know if I have the wrong clutch set, or the wrong pressure plate, or if my hydraulics aren't releasing all the way....but I'm getting ready to freak out a little:confused:
If anyone has done this before the input would be great. What am I doing wrong???

I would guess buy this statement it is NOT the Hydraulic throwout bearing and Fork. I might be mis-interpreting it though, it has been known to happen in the past.

I do have the hydro bell housing/fork. In fact I bought a new fork from napa because the old one had some stress cracks. The clutch disc is in correct (i'm 99.9% sure because I know the one side said "flywheel side"). So I'm leaning toward thinking that my hydraulics aren't working properly, whether it be that I'm not getting enough travel out of the master pushrod, or the slave isn't pushing hard enough. I'm not sure but I'm getting very fed up with it. Thanks for your time and thoughts though guys
