So, i was thinking about buying a traction aid to throw in the rear of the k5 for now then eventually move it up front if i go 14 bolt (or out altogether if i get big enough to deserve a d60). I bought two sets of 4.10s for the front and rear, and so i was thinking about a minispool for traction on the cheap, but the more i think about it (Daily driven and snow/wet driving and general screwing around), i started thinking thats a baaaad idea.

So, ive got something like 12 positrac rears for my 70-81 camaros, and was wondering if you guys thought the clutch style positrac would be good in a 4x4? Im thinking it should be fine but didnt know your guys opinions.

Ones for the cars won't fit unless they are the larger 8.5" gear. As far as i knew, most of the car ones were 7.5" or something like that.

All 71-81 camaros came with the 8.5 rear. The 70 used the 7.5 or 7.6ish something or another, but in 71 they were all the big ten. I know it will fit, just wonder if its worthwhile of swapping it in.

All depends on what you want to do with the truck. In the rocks, a posi and an open diff are about the same. In the mud or snow, posi's work well.

Well i figure for the winter im just gonna drive it in the snow and have fun, but when spring comes around i want to lift it and probably gonna throw 3/4s under it or a semifloater 14 with some 35s. Just gonna rock the 32's and stocky for now.

Go for it man. Just don't expect it to work if you have a tire off the ground. :waytogo:

if your gonna do highway driving go with the clutch type posi
