yeah, return it and get a diaphram clutch instead. Preferrably a Luk Pro Gold...
I ran a B & B clutch in my K5 (mech linkage too) for 7 or 8 years. Very heavy clutch, and very hard to feather. I went Diaphram clutch after a rear main seal fouled the disc and could not believe how much lighter the pedal was, or how much smoother it worked.
