I'm wanting to put together a CO2 inflator system. I'm going back and forth between the HyperFlow regulator sold at Wheelers,

http://wheelersoffroad.com/product/...hyperflo-150psi-non-adjustable-co2-regulator/

and the regulator that Poly Performance sells:

http://www.polyperformance.com/shop/Poly-Performance-CO2-Fixed-Regulator-p-297.html

I was wondering if anyone has either of these and what you think of them. A buddy in the local club has one that looks more like the HyperFlo, but he doesn't remember the brand name or where he got it.

I have the first one you posted. It works great. Air tools and airing up tires. It does freeze up though. Not 100% though. After I use it for a long time, the regulator and about one foot of the hose will ice over. No biggie though. It's done it a hundred times with no issues. Just makes your hand cold when disconnecting the hose when finished. I've also had the tank freeze to the concrete. Again, no biggie.

I like it. Simple and it works.

Same here.

Except I've never had the bottle freeze to concrete.

I have the polyperformance one and it functions as it should and is stout but it freezes up.

i have the wheeler one and same thing, the valve ices over but keeps flowing

I had that one and ditched it for the powertank superflo.

not because I had any issue with the polyperf one cuz I didn't, I actually just wanted a gauged regulator setup so I could keep track of bottle pressure and how much each tire is taking and so on and so forth. for the money cant beat polyperformance setup.

CO2 Regulator question

I have the polypro one an it works great for me. Having air on the trails is better than no air at all.

Talked to the local Arcet guy today and he thinks he can get me a use 20# cylinder from one of his customers pretty cheap. I've got to call him this evening after I get off work and see.

I picked up my 20lb tank off CraigsList. It was out of certification. It was $20.00. Took it in and payed $20.00 to exchange it for a good one. Or right around that price. I forget but it was cheap.

On the reg. I dont have a gauge, I go buy weight. I have it marked for weight when empty and full.

Got ahold of the guy and the tank is $50 which I don't think is too bad considering the cost of a new one. Going to meet up with him after they eat supper and get it.

Just picked it up. $50 and it's already full! Now I've got to order a regulator, house, and fittings. Any suggestions on where to get hose to use with a co2 setup?

Get a rubber hose rated for 300psi don't get the cheap plastic coil thingy. Hybid hoses work as well, just make sure its rated higher than your regulator.

Sure is handy having a 50' hose that winds itself back into a tight little coil.

I can imagine. I'd be leery of plastic myself. Extreme temperature changes does some funny stuff to plastic. Getting really cold like that would make it very brittle I would think. Just seems like the possibility of it bursting next to the regulator would be pretty high to me. I'm not sure though.

What are these tanks made out of? Can they be welded to safely? I want one for my trail rig but I want to mount it to the flatbed and weld on fins to make it look like a bomb to continue with the military theme of the truck :D

so what diamater hose is everyone using? i have a 3/8ths on mine just because thats what i had already

I believe if you weld on them you void the dot approval and can get fined. Why not split a thin piece of pipe or have something rolled to make a clap on sleeve?
