1/2 ton status
my truck is throwing a code 42. anyone know whats on that circuit? i replaced the distro with a msd, msd coil, knock sensor, and esc module. what else could it be?

If you need to join thirdgen to see it, do. Both of tricksters JPG's should help.
Just pull the ECM fuse to reset the codes, 10 seconds is PLENTY.

i just had a code of 42 a while back it was my ignition control got one at advance auto parts it was i think 35$

How is your truck running? Missing/hesatation under load?
Did it set the 42 after you replaced the dist with MSD?

truck is running great. when it comes on makes no differance, whats the ignition control?

ignition control is under the dist cap when i did the paper clip in the computer outlet it threw me a code of 42 which i looked up and told me it was the ignition control. before i changed it i used to get the check engine light on and then it felt like it was running out of gas it was missing so i changed it and all is good now. someone on here showed where to find codes but i dont remember where sorry.
