I have this happening on both my trucks. Both trucks recently had the base timing set to "0".
On the 89 K5 this code occurs intermittently. On the 95 Yukon it occurs as soon as I start the truck. I never had this code before I correctly set the timing on the 89 K5, as for the 95 Yukon, I just bought it and never drove it before.
The book states the Code 43: ESC module not receiving a signal from Knock Sensor.
I tried to test the knock sensor by attaching a voltmeter to it and tapping it to see if there is a spike in voltage. It appears to work by that testing standard.
