2. you live in reno now right? i am 85% coming up for hot august nights, maybe grab a beer while i'm there?

I may sell this one, or part it out. Not sure. I figure this probably isn't worth much since it's got so many issues now. But, I've got some reasonably valuable parts on it. I'd keep the tires and wheels for sure. Likely everything else would be sold.

I did just move to Reno last weekend. A beer would be cool. :)

if you get the truck with the manual would you take your hydro clutch out of this one or would the new one already have it?

and i'll keep ya posted when i know for sure i'll be coming up!:thumb:

The '88, if it has the stock transmission, would be a hydro set up. In such a case, the hydro stuff I have in my '73 would be parted out or sold with the truck.

Well you need to give me some coordinates, I pass by 2 to 4 times a week, sometimes I have plenty of time, sometimes not so much.:eek1:

Yeah, I'm sort of bummed that I never got stuff finished up with that hydro swap. It's all in, but I haven't been able to bleed it successfully. :( Where I'm living is near the 395 and McCarren.

Gotcha.
I will see next time I am heading out, I am taking this week off so till next week. Did you leave the blazer in OR or is it in Reno now?

Blazer (and me) are currently in Oregon. I'm driving it south next Friday when we come home.

That to bad with the old GREEN blazer,I`ve told you before that it is one of my favorite rigs on this site...but if it`s time to move on it`s time to move on.:dunno:

IMO If it was me I would swap as many parts as you can off the old one to the new one.

I like the red and white one you found.

Good luck!

Thanks. It's just got too many issues that I no longer want to deal with. Mostly wiring related, and some stuff I halfassed to get it running. Additionally, My wife and I are looking at starting a family in about 3 years. I want to have some creature comforts and a/c for the kids, especially for desert wheeling in the summer. You can't just stick an infant in a child seat in the back in beating sun, ya know? ;)

There's not much to swap over. I dont want to keep the dana44 front, the new one will hopefully have a manual trans. I want to do the lift diffently. So really, that just leaves the tires and rear end. The rear won't likely be kept because I'll probably want deeper gears, and the only reason to keep it would b e the Detroit, which is cheap to repurchase and is easy to instll.

Nope. The frame on the green blazer is tweaked, so I built the bumper to the tweaked spec, so it won't fit anything else.

Colby, do you have any pictures of how you raised the tank? Tried finding them in the thread and they are all pretty much gone

I will be back at my computer that has those photos in a few days. It is quite possible that I'll forget to post them for you... so make sure to check back with me if I haven't posted them by Tuesday. ;)
