i coulda gone right over the top, but didn't. i've got more flex in it... i promise. the 4" procomp lift springs don't flex that well, but they do ok. i maxed out the suspension last nite and had pretty damn decent flex. i'd never maxed it out before.

i love the way it looks bumper-less. those approach and departure angles are SOOOOOO much better. i'm going to try to keep the replacement bumpers as small and close in as possible. :)

well, the bird is going to go. i like it, but i'm ready for a more clean-line look. those sliders are 2x4 tube welded to the body, compliments of ck5er supersize75k5. we cut about 5 or 6 inches of the body off the bottom (1" below the bottom hinge) and then welded in the tube and cut the doors to fit. i love it!

Yea, the TRANS-AM chicken on the hood has no place being there. Iput flames on my hood once didn't like it.

Sweet. I like it. I like the bumperless look also.:D

Did you trim the rear quarter panels? If so, how much?
yes. the whole bottom of the body, on every panel has been cut off on my rig. on the rear quarter panels, i cut it parallel with the line that is the bottom of the tailgate. :)

got more painting done today. i painted the passenger side door and rear quarter, as well as the tailgate. i also went after the frame with a wire wheel, cleaned it up real good and rattled it black. looks real nice now! all i've got left is to paint the cab, hood and then i'm going to repaint the hard top black. :D

Pics!!

here's the nasty dirty frame/underside from the other day when i was playing on a rock...

here's how it stands today (notice the nice clean black frame! :D i'll flex it out sometime soon so you can get a real good up-skirt shot! :wink1:)

and this is how you look after using a wire wheel all day long! you know, you get funny looks when you go to your investment firm like this. :dunno:

looks normal to me :) you should see the looks I get after work sometimes when the guys @ work decide not to say something when I have grease all over my face lol...

Colby, quick question. I thought I had read somehwere on here that removing the front bumper "weakened" the front frame area. Have you heard of this? I want to say that it holds everything together....maybe it was something else.

Have you noticed any difference with the front bumper being removed?

Dude youre truck is pretty cool! You know im going to have mine done soon(ive been saying that for a long time huh?) but man as sood as i get it all wraped up we have GOT to go some where and do somthing!

Next project should be some new seats by the look of it...

Nice progress so far!!

:D what, you don't like my broken driver's seat? i just bought that back seat from muddytazz... it's pretty nice. :) what i'd really like to do is either get 4 seats/harnesses or get a couple of newer jeep captain seats and a jeep backseat so i can tub my wheel wells...

but, the next project is installing my detroit tomorrow!! :D :D :D i'll probably finish painting my rig tomorrow too...

this next week i'm going to meet up with muddytazz on saturday to do some welding. i'm making a front bumper and rear tow-hitch. :wink1:
