When I was doing my TBI/engine swap on my 79 I split one of my tranny lines and didnt know it until I started it. Looked like I lost a good bit, maybe a couple quarts. I know your supposed to check it warm, but should I put any in it to keep from screwing anything up before I fire it up again? Definitely wouldnt be driving it, just letting it warm up a bit.

Dont run it low. Put about how much you think you lost in the tranny before you start it. Then let it get warm and check it. If you let it warm up before you add it, your probably not going to have fluid on the stick anyway.
