I went to McGuires the other day. It kicked ass. The beer was great, I had the seasonal and their Irish Red. Also the food was great. A little pricey, but damn good. I think Peg Leg Petes is going to be one of my next stops. Hooters was a let down compared to the ones in Dallas.

That was funny. I first glanced through the pics I thought this whole thread was a hoax because I figured you'd snagged a pic of Big Blaze somewhere.

Quite the dramatic change and very nice looking truck!

Oh and last I knew they'd sold Big Blaze after taking a few parts off it. Then it pretty much got stripped of the rest of the goodies, and then showed up on ebay for sale again.
 
That's the place with the dollar bills all over the ceiling right? My wife and I ate there while I was at tech school. Very good. Also, Landry's is a really nice place to eat. We ate there on the 4th of july. The bananas foster is one of the best desserts I've ever had. I can't wait to go back for my 7 level upgrade training.

Yeah, I saw that not too long ago on a rerun. That guy should be stripped of his man card.

I had the Big Blaze payoff episode on my DVR at home. It was kinda weird when I saw it for the first time. I had a guy stop me at Harrisonburg and ask me if it was the truck. Unfortunately, I dont quite have the drivetrain that he did. I am sure he had Dynatrac 60s under it and they are a little outta my price range!

I bought it at in interior shop in TX. It was pretty nice, had woodgrain center console that flipped up and had storage under the center seat. Too bad my uncle ferked it up. It was kinda pricey. I bought it 7 years ago and I think it cost about 600?

When will you be back? I leave in late March.
Yeah it is the place with the dollar bills over the ceiling. They said there is like half a million in ones up there. I have several places I need to go try but the Blazer has been taking my money pretty bad over the past couple months and really dont have the funds to go out too much.:doah:
 
Oh yeah, the D60 I was talking about is from a late 70s 1 1/4 ton Dodge. Is that an ok swap or should I hold off for a 14ff?
 
It will probably be a while. I have to test for my next stripe (to become an NCO) in may and I won't find out until, I believe, June or August. And then I will have to do some upgrade training here at my duty station. So, yeah, it will be a while. It was pretty fun there though, the first time I got to see the ocean. I bet your blazer is a blast to drive around there with the top off, especially with it all hooked up now.
 
Its stuck in TX, motor sitting about 30 feet away from it in my dads barn. I think it will be cool to drive in Key West when I get there though!

I know this is old but I was digging around on my computer the other day and found some pics of the old seat and the new motor (who would have guessed it would be orange?). I will post the seat pics up tomorrow. The motor is in and runs strong. It has been sitting back in TX but I will be hopefully picking it up in August. Have to get it registered so dad can drive it.

Finally went back to TX and got to drive the Blazer. When I got in we installed a Walbrough fuel pump, cop car injectors, chip from TBIChips.com, new fuel pressure regulator spring, bored throttle body, and the rock sliders.

The motor is a torquey mofo and on the first tank I got around 13mpg with a mix of city, little bit of wheelin, and a lot of playin with the skinny pedal.

I definitely need lower gears and I am currently looking for a 14ff or D60 with 4.56s.
 
That's a nice looking truck. Gone through a lot of transformation to look that good too. Keep it up.
 
Its now in Key West

Mounted the DPI rocksliders, got it all cleaned up and pulled the sides off the top.

Still no spare tire so I'm using some cable ties to hold my license plate up there until I get my mount from Kert.

Bought some Rust Bullet and more Herculiner and pulled out the wet stinky vinyl mat. I cleaned up all the rust and used the stuff from the old POR-15 floorpan kit to patch my rust holes. Here is the after Herc shot:

Then I got the seats and Tuffy console back in. I'm going to dye the dash black and get some new seat belts soon.
